Afrooz Niakouei

Afrooz is a dedicated legal professional with a diverse educational and professional background. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 2019. Shortly after, she joined Pettit and Company as a legal assistant in June 2019, where she began her journey in the legal field.

In September 2020, Afrooz pursued her Juris Doctor at the University of Leicester. The COVID-19 pandemic allowed her to attend her first year from British Columbia while continuing to work full-time as a Legal Administrative Assistant at P&C. She then traveled to the UK to complete her final year of the JD program.

Returning to Pettit and Company in June 2022 as a paralegal, she balanced her professional responsibilities while preparing for the National Committee on Accreditation  exams. In July 2023, she took a significant step forward in her career by starting her articling position at Pettit and Company.

In September 2024, Afrooz was called to the BC bar and began her current  role as an associate at Pettit and Company.

Outside of her professional life, Afrooz enjoys going to the gym, cooking, and spending quality time with her family, balancing her career ambitions with personal interests that keep her grounded.
